COOKING WITH MON
Cooking with Mon is a family run business, located on the beautiful island of Koh Lanta in the southern region of Thailand.
Cook like a local and eat like a local, is Mon's motto.
Mon is the fun and charismatic chef who will introduce you in a relaxing and fun way to the secrets of Thai cooking, that he learned growing up in the rice fields.
Mon doesn’t just let you follow a recipe but helps you develop ‘a feeling’ for Thai food. He does this with his natural charm, humor and expertise.
The classes are hands-on, you learn to do everything from scratch. So when you go home there will be no doubt that you can cook your favorite Thai dishes.
Besides cooking, Mon has a passion for growing anything from vegetables, to fresh herbs and even chickens and ducks! You will be able to roam around the beautiful herb garden and cook fresh duck or chicken eggs from our farm.

We cook 4 dishes, 1 curry from scratch, 2 additional main dishes and a Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Each individual participant can choose their favorite dishes from the list below.
So every person joining can choose one of the first dish, one of the curries, and one of the third dishes. So if you're joining with your partner you can choose your favorite dish for each person.

We start at 11:00 am and finish at 4:30 and we offer a free pick up and drop off service included in the price. So it will be great to know in advance where you stay.
We usually cook with chicken and shrimp. But we are able to adapt the food to any special diet, such as vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian or gluten-free. Just make sure to let us know about your special diet in advance so we can adapt the groceries accordingly.
The price is 1900 baht per person. 7-12 years old, 1000 baht per person. Younger kids can join for free and cook with the parents. On the booking system, you can book for adults first and then before checking out you can choose "add another service" and then you will be able to add the booking for your kids at the cheaper price.
We will provide you with a recipe book in pdf format of all the dishes we have ever cooked so you can experiment with other dishes after you get home.
Amazing Thai food cooked by you, water and fruit is available for you all day.
It is possible to order delicious freshly ground coffee, shakes, beers and cocktails for additional payment. You can pay cash or with credit card.
We are cooking and eating all day! So please come hungry, have a small or early breakfast or skip it completely if you wake up late. We start eating at 12, and at the end of the class you will be stuffed!
We offer a free pick up and drop off service included in the price. So it will be great to know in advance where are you staying once you book online.

During Covid-19 Thailand closed the borders and all our business just disappeared at once. This was a great time to start our YouTube channel Cooking with Mon. On this channel I will share all my secrets with you about Thai cooking and we are going to cook together and have lots of fun!
Mon's wife Maayan started the YouTube channel Sweet Life Lanta completely by accident when Covid19 happened and we had no work to do. The channel is about anything that we find interesting; our family life on the island, bicultural love stories, language, food and people. We interview people on the island who have an interesting story to tell.
Our channel grew quickly with subscribers around the world. At the moment we have more than 130000 subscribers. You can find our channel here.
One of our videos even went viral with almost 10 million views! It’s a tear-jerking story about a Swedish lady and a Thai fisherman who fell in love on Phi Phi island in 1992. She got pregnant, returned to Sweden, and then... If you want to know what happened next, watch the video!
